From the Margins to the Frontlines of Peace
In 2001, as a public health nurse, I met people living on the margins—grieving, dissociated, trapped in trauma for years without real help. I began to ask a question: Could I, as a nurse, do so much more? Could nurses learn to intervene in such a powerful ways as to permanently end traumatic responses for those suffering the most in our communities?
That question carried me through my master’s, my PhD, and my own trauma recovery journey. Along the way, I discovered the forgiveness-based approach that became The Becoming Method®.
