Instructional Design Lead (Contract)

Overview

The Becoming Institute is seeking an Instructional Design Lead (Contract) to support our Psychological Health and Safety Certificate Program. You will build and standardize an eight-module learning system—session flow, applied practice, and microlearning pre-work—producing facilitator-ready materials and workplace-aligned completion artifacts.

No. of Vacancies

Skills Required
  • 5+ years in instructional design, learning experience design, or curriculum production for adult/professional learners.
  • Proven ability to architect facilitator-led learning with required structured interaction (case analysis, guided discussion, role practice) and workplace transfer tasks.
  • Experience producing high-quality participant manuals and facilitator playbooks that codify “how-to” guidance, tools, and delivery prompts.
  • Demonstrated ability to design mandatory microlearning pre-work aligned to live sessions and prepared for completion tracking (SCORM-ready packaging is an asset).
  • Strong command of production discipline: templates, checklists, version control, approvals, change logs, controlled releases.
  • Accessibility-by-design capability and ability to produce conversion-ready assets suitable for modern browsers and assistive technologies.
  • Ability to create translation-ready source files and maintain terminology stability using a standardized glossary (English/French equivalency).
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design and build the standardized learning structure for an eight-module program, including consistent session flow, interaction blocks, practice prompts, and timing discipline.
  • Produce the complete learning asset system required for scalable delivery: slide architecture, participant materials, facilitator guidance, and applied workplace tools.
  • Build mandatory microlearning pre-work that primes learners for live application, including completion checks and packaging requirements (SCORM-ready where applicable).
  • Design completion artifacts that verify participation and applied learning (knowledge checks + applied project checkpoints), built for PASS/REVISION workflows and audit-ready evidence capture.
  • Deliver clean, accessible, conversion-ready source assets that support accessibility testing/remediation and controlled update cycles.
  • Maintain disciplined release management for all learning assets (versioning, approvals, change logs, controlled releases).
  • Partner with QA, accessibility, and translation workflows to protect equivalency, reduce rework, and sustain quality at scale.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to translate trauma-informed education into practical psychological health and safety learning experiences, with language and sequencing that protect psychological safety in the learning environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to design for workplace transfer—building applied practice loops and implementation tools that convert learning into observable leadership behavior.
  • Strong evaluation mindset: comfort designing measurable outcomes, learning checks, and applied artifacts that support completion verification and decision-grade reporting.
  • Ability to work within disciplined production controls (templates, version control, approvals, change logs, controlled releases) and collaborate cleanly with QA/Evidence, Accessibility, and translation workflows.
